We are the First Grade! We are: Mei, Valentine, Iris, Reid, Cian, Axel, Mila, Kyle, Arthur, James, Emil, Holden, Elisha, Eva, Maya, Jude, Kamryn, and Emee, with Ms Baryo and Ms Carey.
This year, the First Grade Class will be walking 1 mile! For their service project, first Graders will brighten the day of an older person who is potentially struggling with isolation, loss of family or friends, or chronic illness. The students will write letters and make artwork for the residents of the Samaritas’s Senior Facility in Detroit. First graders will also plant daffodil bulbs on campus and around the neighborhood in collaboration with Daffodils4Detroit, a beautification program with the goal of planting 1,000,000 daffodils across Detroit by the fall of 2020.
Donations in support of the Walk-a-Thon help to bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the expenses of running the school. The school’s goal is to raise $49,750 that will directly support the exceptional education that Detroit Waldorf School provides for our children. To meet this goal, we need to raise an average of $250 per child.
Thank you for donating to the First Grade Team and helping support their class goal of raising $4,500!
