5th Grade's Story

We are the Fifth Grade!
We are: Pfeiffer, Lucas, Emily, Agnes, Scarlett, Julia, Henry, Lailah, Zion, Henry, Noah, Finnegan, James, Corrina, Dagny, Eliot, Jonah, Theta, Frank, Paris, Callie, and Edgar, with Mr Trombly.

This year, the Fifth Grade Class will be walking 7 miles! For their service project, they will be working with the Greening of Detroit, a non-profit organization focused on enhancing the quality of life for Detroiters by planting trees, providing job training, and involving youth in the education of the natural environment.

Fifth graders will walk to Butzel Playground and assist with tree planting, watering, and mulching alongside the Greening of Detroit. Additionally, the organization has generously donated three trees to DWS, which the fifth grade will plant on the East Prairie in collaboration with a professional Greening of Detroit tree planter.

Donations in support of the Walk-a-Thon help to bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the expenses of running the school.  The school’s goal is to raise $49,750 that will directly support the exceptional education that Detroit Waldorf School provides for our children.  To meet this goal, we need to raise an average of $250 per child.

Thank you for donating to the Fifth Grade Team and helping support their class goal of raising $5,500!
