For more than twenty years, I have had the privilege of supporting Princeton in Latin America (PiLA), an organization that places young leaders in year-long fellowships with nonprofit and public service organizations across Latin America and the Caribbean.
This summer, in support of PiLA’s mission, I will be walking 114 kilometers of the Camino de Santiago through the hills and valleys of Galicia, Spain, alongside my thirteen-year-old grandson, Alex.
The Camino is a pilgrimage rooted in reflection, perseverance, and community - values that I feel are deeply connected to PiLA’s work and mission. At a time when international understanding and global engagement matter more than ever, PiLA continues to support young people committed to service, learning, and cross-cultural exchange.
