WALT-a-thon is a 24+ hour radio-a-thon to raise money for causes in our immediate community, locally, and throughout North Carolina. Tune in to hear from students, professors, and many other special guests! WALT-a-thon exists because of our love for radio and our communities. It’s an ode to the art of broadcast, and to the life source of WALT: the listeners.

WALT 1610, Davidson College’s student radio station, streams exclusively online at walt1610.com. Founded in 1986, WALT began as a carrier current station for students in their dorms. It broadcast music selected by students and other pertinent campus information. WALT 1610 supports a diverse community of music enthusiasts and provides a public forum for all students. Its weekly programming is powered by more than 70 volunteer DJs. In addition to live broadcasting, WALT hosts live events on campus and collaborates with other student organizations to foster a shared love of music and the arts.

This radio-a-thon is benefitting three North Carolina community organizations: Lula Bell’s, Roof Above, and BeLoved Asheville.
