Help us bring to life our new nature discovery yard and playground at the Warwick Community School in Warwick, MA—an outdoor learning space and community hub designed with and for every child and family. Available Components

Accessible Garden Bed.

Accessible garden beds let every student — including those in wheelchairs and other assistive devices — dig in, plant, and grow. Each raised bed is filled with compost and native plants that feed directly into our farming and project-based learning curriculum.

$2,500 builds and fills one bed.

Shade Sails.

Shade sails that stretch across play and learning areas allow students to play safely and comfortably, even in the hot sun.

$1,000 builds one sail. (We want to build three sails total)

Log Structure - Pick Up Sticks.

Log balance structures are among the most-loved features at our mentor playground at the Hitchcock Center — used constantly, by students of all ages. We'll build ours from black locust for strength and longevity, professionally anchored so every child and adult can climb, balance, and explore safely.

$4,500 builds "Pick Up Sticks."

Early Childhood Swing Set.

Swings are more than play — they provide vestibular input that helps students regulate and focus. Ours will serve students of all sizes and abilities, built from natural and recycled materials.

$7,000 builds our Swing Set.

Embankment Slide

Slides are favorites of all ages! We seek to make good use of the natural embankment by erecting an accessible slide made of recycled materials.

$15,000 builds our Embankment Slide.

Garden Shrubs

For playing, hiding and learning about the natural world, native shrubs will be used thoughtfully to create the boundaries and playspaces in the nature discovery yard. Some of the many types of shrubs which will be used are Cranberry Viburnum, Red Twig Dogwood, Mock Orange, Elderberry, San Bar Willow and Swamp Azalea. Shrubs range in price, but we are seeking donations of $75 for the cost of each shrub and the labor to plant it.

$75 enables one garden shrub.
