EMERGENCY UPDATE ON MOROCCO

ShelterBox is responding to help families affected by the earthquake in Morocco to support the communities left most vulnerable with aid such as tents, blankets, solar lights, and kitchen sets. We are working close with the local Rotary District leaders and NGO's as we assess the conditions in the high Atlas mountains. The devastation is widespread and access to remote villages is difficult.

ShelterBox is an international disaster relief humanitarian organization that responds urgently to shelter needs following earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, hurricanes, cyclones, tsunamis, or conflicts.

Working with local partners and individuals, we distribute customized emergency shelter and household supplies based on the specific needs of the communities we serve. Aid can include a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, tarps, warm clothing, mosquito nets, a water filtration system and storage, emergency lighting, and other tools for survival.

Recently ShetlerBox responded to the catastrophic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and devastating floods in Pakistan. ShelterBox has ongoing programs in Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Somalia, and Yemen.

A rapidly growing part of ShelterBox's work is in conflict zones. Last year, for example, ShelterBox launched multiple programs that have helped more than 50,000 people displaced by the war in Ukraine. We are also working in Ethiopia and have been delivering aid in Syria for over a decade.

Since 2000, ShelterBox has provided shelter and life-saving items to more than 2.5 million following more than 300 disasters in nearly 100 countries. ShelterBox is the official project partner of Rotary International for disaster relief. ShelterBox was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018 and 2019. ShelterBox USA is based in Santa Barbara, California.
