THE ISSUE

Due to water system failures that were complicated by severe winter conditions, residents living on the west side of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas have been without water since Thursday, January 18 and are expected to be without water for as much as 2-3 more weeks.

THE IMPACT

Residents do not have access to adequate or safe water for drinking / cooking, for bathing or flushing toilets, or for washing clothes.

THE RESPONSE

Together for Hope Arkansas, a non-profit organization serving Phillips County, is working to alleviate the strain on this community by raising money to purchase pallets of bottled water. All funds will be used to purchase water or provide emergency support to the residents of Helena-West Helena. Bottled water will be sent to the Phillips County Emergency Management Office to be distributed to community residents impacted by the water crisis.
