The Wattanak Dance Troupe (WDT) is a nonprofit organization established in 2000 with a mission to preserve, promote, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Cambodian classical and folk dance. Based in Minnesota, WDT serves as a cultural bridge for Cambodian Americans, fostering connections to their ancestral roots while sharing the beauty and depth of Khmer performing arts with diverse audiences.

This mission is realized through three transformative pillars:

Showcasing the Heart of Cambodian Culture:
Presenting traditional and contemporary dance performances that illuminate Cambodia's rich heritage, weaving its stories, history, and spirituality into narratives that resonate across generations and cultures.
Empowering Through Education:
Offering immersive workshops and training programs that equip community members, students, and aspiring artists with the tools to preserve and evolve Cambodian arts, fostering cultural pride and lifelong learning.
Building Bridges Across Communities:
Engaging in cross-cultural outreach and collaborative initiatives that promote understanding, dismantle barriers, and inspire a global appreciation of Cambodian traditions, creating connections that transcend borders.
