Wattanak Dance Troupe invites you to join our mission to preserve the beauty and legacy of Cambodian performing arts while empowering a new generation of performers and leaders. For decades, Wattanak has been a pillar of the Cambodian community in Minnesota, sharing the grace and depth of Cambodian dance traditions. This year, our campaign, ‘Our Roots, Their Future’, celebrates the connection between the wisdom of our cultural roots and the bright potential of our young dancers. Your support will help us expand our programs, nurture the talent of our current and future students, and ensure that the timeless artistry of Cambodian dance continues to thrive for generations to come.

Who Are We?

Established in 2000, Wattanak Dance Troupe (WDT) is a beacon of passion, dedication, and cultural preservation. Founded by Sodanny Eir and Yousedy Peov, WDT is committed to safeguarding and advancing Cambodia’s Folk and Classical dance traditions. Through captivating performances, educational classes and workshops, and community engagement, WDT bridges Cambodian-Americans with their ancestral roots, fostering a deeper connection to their heritage. Our mission is to ensure that the timeless artistry of Cambodian dance continues to inspire and thrive for generations. At the heart of our vision is the creation of a vibrant, multicultural community where cultural understanding, appreciation, and unity flourish, inviting all to experience the beauty, grace, and wisdom of this ancient art form.

Your donation will help us:

Preserve tradition by supporting the continuation of authentic Cambodian dance practices and cultural traditions.
Inspire growth by expanding workshops, classes, and performances that nurture young dancers and teach them about the cultural significance of this art form.
Build community by providing opportunities for students to engage with diverse audiences across Minnesota, and bringing new programs into our curriculum to strengthen our impact.

By supporting ‘Our Roots, Their Future’, you play a vital role in ensuring that this rich tradition of Cambodian dance continues to thrive and inspire for generations to come. Your support helps us preserve the cultural heritage that has been passed down through the ages while enabling us to nurture and empower the next generation of dancers, artists, and leaders. Together, we honor the past by giving it a place in the future, allowing our youth to carry forward the legacy of Cambodian performing arts.

No contribution is too small—every dollar brings us one step closer to preserving this cultural treasure and expanding our educational programs, performances, and community outreach. With your help, we are not only safeguarding this ancient art form but also fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of it for years to come. Thank you for helping us preserve our roots and nurture their future, ensuring that the beauty and insight of Cambodian performing arts remain a vibrant part of our shared cultural landscape.
