We are a community-led, volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to creating permanent affordable housing for Watauga. Your tax-deductible contribution goes directly to our goal of acquiring a first foreclosure property to be redeveloped for affordable housing.

Here is our multi-year plan to create not just one affordable home, but a process for expanding our affordable housing stock year after year.

We estimate $200,000 will be needed to purchase a suitable piece of land or foreclosure property in Watauga. Our 2023 goal is to raise $60,000 of that total through donations, memberships, and grant applications. As our First Property Fund grows, we will be considering land parcels that could be purchased with the funds raised so far. After we identify a property that matches our needs that can be bought with the funds in the pool, WCHT will secure the property and move to Phase 2 of our fundraising for construction costs.
