Blue Star Connection is fundraising a purchase of 36 Custom Build Catt-O-Sonic guitars. These guitars are custom made specifically for the sterile environments in hospitals to be used by music therapists and patients receiving therapy during their treatment and recovery. After Covid, hospitals will not allow used and unknown origin donated instruments into their clean environment. This is a perfect solution that will meet the long terms needs.

The guitars are custom made by Custom Build Guitars in Austin, TX. They were designed by our founder John Catt (thus the Catt-O-Sonic name), Don Ritter of Category 5 Amplification, and Brent at Custom Build Guitars. These guitars have the following features designed to withstand the constant cleaning required in hospitals.

• External paint and gloss covering that withstands harsh chemicals used during cleaning.
• Specially coated hardware (bridge, tuners, and frets) that will not corrode or weaken as result of cleaning.
• Special pickup covers that can be cleaned without damage to the electronics.
• The guitar build is very high quality and professional musicians say they are “gig ready”.

Custom Build Guitars has reduced the costs for us down to their cost of manufacturing as a way of contributing to Blue Star Connection. The price for each guitar to us is $500 including a gig bag and shipping. That price is only good if we buy 36 guitars, which is the number they need for their manufacturing runs.
