In Person
Let's Boogie to Benefit Mental Health closes out the Broadmoor weekend with a live comedy game show and super jam in the Broadmoor's International Center! We Bee Spelling is a comedy game show hosted by Alex Greer and Kyle Ayers (Conan) featuring music from a very special house band: Andy Frasco + Leftover Salmon. We Bee Spelling is a one-of-a-kind philanthropic experience — part late night variety show, part spelling bee, and all to support Backline and Colorado mental wellness programs. But that's not all... after the laughter comes JAMS! Hang out for STRING SLAM, an all-star super jam featuring members of Yonder Mountain, Leftover Salmon and surprise special guests!
Story
On Sunday March 22nd, Boogie at the Broadmoor will host a finale benefit event: We Bee Spelling, a comedy game show hosted by Alex Greer, Kyle Ayers (Conan) with house bandleader Andy Frasco with Leftover Salmon. We Bee Spelling is a one-of-a-kind experience — part late night variety show, part spelling bee, and all for charity — supporting mental health through Backline and Colorado mental wellness programs. Contestants participate in this interactive, live improv show on behalf of Backline and do their best to spell while encountering “sabotages” from the audience (such as spelling words backwards or performing hidden talents), increasingly more ridiculous head-to-head games, and all sorts of antics that make this a truly unique and hilarious fundraiser.
And that’s not all, Sunday night will be capped with a very special performance by Yonder Salmon Boys, featuring Adam Aijala, Dave Johnston, Drew Emmitt, Greg Garrison and surprise guests, plus local favorites, Woodshed Red! This send-off event will be open to the public on a donation and is limited capacity.
The proceeds of this event will benefit Backline, a mental health and wellness resource hub where music industry professionals and their families can quickly and easily access a wealth of services specifically geared towards their work and lifestyle. Our support of Backline is more important than ever in light of the recent tragic losses in our music community. Our mission for this event is to raise awareness and funds to support our musicians.
We will also be supporting national, state, and local mental wellness programs: National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Mental Health Colorado, and Pikes Peak Suicide Prevention. These organizations will be on site throughout the weekend to participate in spreading awareness about this critically important cause.
*** You can attend this event if you have a Boogie at the Broadmoor 3-day pass or single-day ticket for Sunday. If you would like to spell, you must start a fundraising page following the instructions below. Either way, we very much appreciate donations of any amount in support of the cause! ***
