Story

Coming at you LIVE, thanks to the generous support of all our donors and our sponsor:

We Bee Spelling is a live comedy game show and nonprofit fundraising event. Imagine a late night variety show meets a spelling bee. There's a live house band lead by Andy Frasco, comedian hosts -- Kyle Ayers and Alex Greer -- and all sorts of interactive mini-games that get the entire audience involved. Check out the below video to see what the show is all about!

On August 28 at RecordBar, We Bee Spelling is partnering with KIPP KC to support their mission to rethink education. KIPP KC is part of a national network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory charter schools with a track record of preparing students in educationally underserved communities for success in college and in life.

KIPP KC opened its first school, KIPP Endeavor Academy, in 2007 with approximately 31 fifth grade students.  Today, KIPP Endeavor has grown to serve students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade and is currently educating 630 students.  KIPP Endeavor Academy serves students from every zip code in the city, but aims to bring the opportunity for quality education to those students living in areas without access to high-performing schools.  Eighty-seven percent of our students are African-American or Hispanic and 93 percent qualify for the federal free or reduced-price meal program.
