WERQ TOGETHER is a trans-led nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon, building practical, creative, and affirming systems of care for trans folks relocating from hostile states. Our flagship program—the Trans Relocation Fund & Aid Network (TRFAN)—offers hands-on support for individuals seeking safer futures in Oregon through a mix of mutual aid, peer connection, and resource navigation.

We know that moving is hard—and moving as a trans person navigating systemic discrimination, financial insecurity, or lack of family support is even harder. That’s why we step in to make sure people don’t have to do it alone. TRFAN provides microgrants for relocation expenses, peer support groups, one-on-one case management, housing assistance (including our Bloom House transitional housing program), and access to a growing network of volunteers who help folks get grounded in their new city.

Our team is made up of trans and queer community organizers, system builders, artists, and nerds who believe in doing the work without waiting for permission. We collaborate with local orgs, shelters, food programs, and volunteers to create a holistic model of care that centers safety, dignity, and joy.

At the heart of our mission is a belief that trans people deserve not just to survive, but to thrive—and that we need bold, creative, and community-rooted solutions to get us there. We exists to make the transition into a new life feel possible, powerful, and just a little more human.
