Land Conservation
Your support helps Willowsford Conservancy protect and care for more than 2,300 acres of open space across Loudoun County. From forests and meadows to streams and wildlife habitat, these landscapes require ongoing stewardship to remain healthy and resilient. Contributions to the Land Stewardship Fund directly support hands-on conservation work that improves habitat, supports wildlife, protects water quality, and engages the community through nature-based education and volunteer participation, including citizen science and monitoring programs, preserving the natural character of the land for the benefit of the broader community.
Donations may support:
Invasive species management and removal
Meadow, forest, and habitat restoration
Stream and riparian buffer restoration to improve water quality
Native plantings that support pollinators and wildlife
Wildlife habitat monitoring, including launching a reptile and amphibian population monitoring program
Nature-based education development and volunteer engagement through citizen science
Trail and open space stewardship that balances access and conservation
Equipment, materials, and seasonal field work needed to maintain these landscapes
