Regenerative Farming
At Willowsford Farm, regenerative farming guides how we grow food and care for the land. Our approach focuses on building healthy soil, strengthening ecosystems, and producing nutrient-dense food using practices that work with nature rather than against it. By improving soil health and investing in sustainable farming systems, we help ensure that this land remains productive, resilient, and healthy for generations to come.
We are continually working to improve our infrastructure and increase operational efficiency so that our team can focus more time on growing food, caring for the land, and expanding farm-based education. These improvements will allow us to welcome more students, teachers, and community groups to the Farm for hands-on, STEM-focused learning experiences. By creating opportunities for young people to learn where their food comes from and how sustainable farming works, we hope to inspire the next generation to value agriculture, healthy soil, and strong local food systems.
Donor support helps fund:
Regenerative farming practices that improve soil health, including cover cropping, rotating where our laying hens graze to add fertility, and other approaches that strengthen the long-term resilience of our farmland
Farm equipment and tools that improve efficiency, reduce labor demands, and allow our team to focus more time on growing food and community engagement
Farm infrastructure improvements and future projects that strengthen the farm’s ability to grow and harvest food efficiently, better serve our customers, and support the continued growth of the farm
Farm-based education and community programs, including student field trips, homeschool visits, farm tours, and hands-on experiences like Meet the Chickens
Your support helps ensure that Willowsford Farm can continue improving soil health, growing healthy food, and sharing regenerative farming practices with the broader community.
