Wilma Jean's Medical Fundraiser

Most of you already know our queen of the sanctuary, Wilma Jean. For those who don't this is Wilma! 

Wilma Jean and her boyfriend, Ponyboy, were our first residents at the sanctuary that arrived a little over 8 years ago now. Which means Wilma is probably 9 or close to 10 years old now, putting her in her senior years of life. She always makes such a positive impact on everyone that meets her, even though she's sometimes a sassy gal. Despite that everyone falls in love with her and everyone always remembers Wilma after they visit Sage Mountain even one time. 

Lately she's been having mobility issues. It started with her walking wobbly and having a hard time controlling her back 2 legs. She's now scooting around the shelter without standing up on her back legs. We've tried to help her get up, but the independence she's always had is still going strong and there's only so much she'll let us do. 

She's been on a joint supplement and just started medications to hopefully get her feeling good enough to stand up and walk again. When we get her up we'll be able to guide her into our pig lift and be able to examine her more thoroughly and safely. It's likely she has a spinal issue happening based off of her symptoms. But our first goal is getting her up to actually have the opportunity to examine her back legs better. 

Between her medicine/supplements and getting an out of office exam done, bills easily start adding up. Any and all support you can send Wilma's way means to world to her and us! Thank you so much!
