After the announcement via the IEC Foundation website, phone, and email, the winner will be notified by certified mail and will have 30 days to claim their prize (if not otherwise responsive to our contact efforts).

Sweepstakes Overview

Independent Electrical Contractors Foundation (the “Sponsor”), a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is conducting a sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) to raise funds for the Sponsor. By obtaining an entry in the Sweepstakes, the entrant (“Entrant” or “Participant”) agrees to be bound by these Official Rules (“Official Rules”). The Sponsor’s interpretation and application of these Official Rules shall be final.

There is one (1) method of entry (see “How to Enter” below).

Eligibility

The Sweepstakes is open to anyone 18 years or older (or the age of majority in Entrant’s local jurisdiction, if older). Not available to residents of the State of Washington. Persons who reside in an OFAC-sanctioned country or who appear on the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Specially Designated Nationals List (SDN List) are not eligible to participate. Excluded countries include, without limitation, Balkans, Belarus, Burma, Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, North Korea, Russia, Sudan, Syria, and Zimbabwe, and where prohibited by law. Unless otherwise specified, employees, agents, and officers of the Sponsor and their respective affiliated companies, partners, advertising agencies, promotion and administration agencies, and any entity involved in any aspect of the creation, production, operation, execution, or fulfillment of this Sweepstakes, and their immediate families and those living in the same household (whether or not related), are not eligible to enter. Entries will not be accepted from inmates of a correctional facility.

When to Enter

The Sweepstakes ends at the time of the live drawing on September 27, 2025 (“Sweepstakes Entry Period”). Entries received after the live drawing begins will be ineligible and will be discarded.

How to Enter

Any eligible person may enter by obtaining an official numbered Sweepstakes entry from the Sponsor during the Sweepstakes Entry Period. An eligible person may use multiple entry methods:

In-Person Entries: Donation entries may be accepted in person by the Sponsor and processed consistent with method (1) above.

Only one person may be entered per entry number. If more than one person is named on an entry, and that entry is selected, the first person named will be deemed the holder of record. In the event of a dispute regarding identity, the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed the Entrant (the natural person assigned the email address by an Internet access provider).

All defective or physically altered entry forms will be disqualified. Before the drawing, Sponsor will make a reasonable effort to notify the submitter of any rejected entry via the contact information provided. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, late, or misdirected entries or any failure to receive orders or deliver receipts prior to deadlines.

Participants must supply truthful and accurate information (name, email, phone, and street address). Failure to do so will disqualify the entry. Any attempt to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different emails, phone numbers, identities, registrations/logins, or other methods will void those entries and disqualify the Participant.

Additional Donation Entry Terms

From time to time, Sponsor may make promotional offers where Entrants can obtain additional entries. Sponsor reserves the right to reject any donation entry that does not constitute “good funds.”

Prize

The Prize will be as described on the Sweepstakes Site for this promotion. All non-stated options and features of any Prize are in the Sponsor’s discretion and subject to availability. If a vehicle is part of the Prize and insurance is required by law, the winner must provide proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license. For federal tax purposes, the net fair market value of a Prize, plus any published cash award applied toward the tax requirement, as of the date the Prize is received, will determine the value for tax reporting. Winner is solely responsible for all taxes (federal, state, and local), fees, assessments, sales/use tax, registration, title, delivery, and any other costs.

If the Prize becomes unavailable due to legal restrictions, manufacturing or distribution constraints, or similar reasons, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, substitute a cash alternative or a prize of comparable or greater value.

Winning Odds

Odds depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

Selection of Winner

The Prize drawing will be conducted by the Sponsor at the time of the live drawing on September 27, 2025 from all eligible entries. The winner does not need to be present to win.

Winners will be notified via the contact information provided at entry. Potential Winners must respond within 30 daysof notification. Failure to respond within 30 days may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner from remaining valid entries. If selected as a potential Prize winner, Canadian Entrants must correctly answer a time-based mathematical skill-testing question to be eligible. Failure to complete verification (or, for Canadian Entrants, to correctly answer the skill question) within 48 hours of request may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. No more than the stated number of Prize(s) will be awarded.

To claim a Prize, the winner must sign and deliver to Sponsor: (a) a sworn affidavit of eligibility; (b) applicable tax/title/registration forms (including Social Security Number where required by law); (c) proof of identity satisfactory to Sponsor; and (d) a signed Liability and Publicity Release. Sponsor will report the award as required by law. Winners must pick up or arrange delivery of prizes (cash prizes may be delivered by U.S. mail, wire transfer, or other mutually acceptable means).

Entrants may request the name of the winner(s) by sending a request titled “Name of Winners” and a self-addressed stamped #10 envelope to:

Publicity

Where permitted by law, acceptance of a Prize constitutes permission for Sponsor and its designees to use the winner’s name, hometown, photograph, testimonial, likeness, and/or Prize information for advertising, promotion, and publicity in any media worldwide, in perpetuity, without compensation or further notice.

General Terms and Limitation of Liability

BY ENTERING, ENTRANTS: (1) AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE OFFICIAL RULES; (2) AGREE TO COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS, RULES, AND REGULATIONS; (3) ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEIR NAMES AND/OR LIKENESSES MAY BE DISCLOSED TO AND USED BY THE NEWS MEDIA AND BY SPONSOR FOR PUBLICITY PURPOSES; (4) AGREE THAT ENTRY IN THE SWEEPSTAKES IS GOVERNED BY THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND THAT THE COLLECTION/USE OF ENTRANT INFORMATION IS GOVERNED BY TAPKAT SOLUTIONS LLC (“TAPKAT”) ENTRANT USER PRIVACY POLICY. ENTRY DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY PRIZE.

A PARTICIPANT’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY BREACH BY THE RELEASED PARTIES IS LIMITED TO THE RETURN OF THE DONATION FOR HIS/HER ENTRIES. NO EXPRESS WARRANTIES ARE GIVEN, AND NO AFFIRMATION BY WORDS OR ACTIONS WILL CONSTITUTE A WARRANTY. PRIZES CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED, SOLD, SUBSTITUTED, OR REDEEMED FOR CASH BY WINNERS. SPONSOR MAY SUBSTITUTE A PRIZE OF COMPARABLE OR GREATER VALUE IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION.

California Civil Code §1542 Waiver (for applicable entrants): Entrant expressly waives rights under Section 1542 and similar laws, which state: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known…would have materially affected his or her settlement…”

Sponsor may cancel, suspend, and/or modify the Sweepstakes if fraud or other issues affect the fair administration, security, or proper play, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Notice of such action will be posted on the Sweepstakes Site if practicable. TapKat may disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or operation of the Sweepstakes or acts in violation of these Rules or in a disruptive manner. Robotic, automatic, macro, programmed, photocopied entries, bulk-mailed entries, and similar methods (including third-party “entry services”) are prohibited. Attempts to exceed the stated number of entries by any method will result in disqualification. Entries must be in the name of an individual; no entity entries allowed. Sponsor’s delay or failure to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver.

All federal and state income taxes based on the value of the Prize(s) are due from the winner(s). Sponsor makes no guarantee that winners can sell the Prize(s) for an amount equal to any tax liability, nor that the IRS will accept the Prize value used for tax purposes.

Binding Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver

Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participation, each Entrant agrees:

Binding Arbitration. Any legal issue, claim, or dispute arising out of or related to the Sweepstakes (including any Prize) shall be resolved by final, binding arbitration administered by JAMS pursuant to its applicable rules (including JAMS Consumer Arbitration Minimum Standards; JAMS Streamlined Arbitration Rules & Procedures if criteria are met). Judgment on any award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. If Entrant cannot pay JAMS costs, Sponsor will pay all arbitration fees and expenses.
