Raising a Glass, Raising Awareness

As we gather for Wine Down—an evening of connection, culture, and conversation—we do so with a purpose that goes far beyond the glass. This May, in recognition of Preeclampsia Awareness Month, we are centering a critical dialogue on the impact of preeclampsia on Black birthing people in New Jersey.

Black women are disproportionately affected by preeclampsia, a life-threatening hypertensive disorder that remains a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality. Through this event, we aim to illuminate the urgent need for early detection, culturally competent care, and systemic change.

With each pour from Lovlee Wines, a Black woman-owned brand, we’re not only celebrating excellence—we’re also investing in equity. Proceeds from this event support the Perinatal Health Equity Initiative’s efforts to educate communities, train birth workers, and advocate for policies that save lives.
