At Interfaith Works, we believe in the power of each individual's unique journey. Over the past 50 years, we have worked alongside our neighbors and community partners to support our clients as they take steps along their pathways to stability.

Many of our neighbors are living in a “house of cards,” being just one rent payment, one week’s cut in hours, one illness away from homelessness. Interfaith Works integrated programs made a difference by:

Providing emergency and long-term supportive housing with case management, giving them a space to heal and move toward stability
Providing emergency funding with rent and utilities, enabling them to stay in their homes
Supplementing their scarce resources with free food, clothes, school supplies, diapers, linens, and other small household items
Helping clients develop life and career skills, leading to gainful employment

Interfaith Works (IW) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides emergency shelter, supportive housing, essential needs, and employment programs to over 35,000 residents of Montgomery County, MD, every year.

While Montgomery County, a part of the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, is considered affluent, more than 72,000 residents live on incomes below the Federal poverty line.
