Join Sahaya International and the Women in Gorilla Conservation in providing a better future to women in the village of Nyambishamba, at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda.
This program was founded in 2020 by Robinah Gangiriba, and has currently more than 50 women in the program. The women come from underprivileged backgrounds, and struggle to make a living for themselves and their families (including school fees for their children). Via this program, they become empowered via handicraft making (including baskets, clothing) and performances for tourists. We are currently raising funds to improve the vocational training unit with sewing machines and extra materials to make clothing.
You can help these women! Your contribution via Sahaya International (a USA based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization), will be forwarded to this program.
As Sahaya International is 100% volunteer-based, we forward 100% of your contribution to them.
All donations are tax-deductible in the U.S., according to standard IRS regulations. Sahaya International uses the Givebutter platform to ensure data security. There are, of course, fees for credit card usage, and we appreciate any coverage of those fees. Additionally, there is an opportunity to leave a tip for the donation platform, but there is no obligation (so you can set that to zero). If you wish to specify or dedicate your contribution to a preferred cause within this program, simply leave a comment in the "+ add message" field on the donation form.
You can also use this form to donate online if you are not in the USA, but please note that your donation will not be tax-deductible outside of the USA.
Any and all donations make a difference! Thank you!
