Let's prove to Maude that she doesn't have to pretend to be a man to succeed in music.

Seriously.

Maude Caillat is a badass saxophonist from Switzerland who has been positively grinding on the New Orleans music scene for EIGHT WHOLE YEARS.

She single-handedly leads multiple bands: the Bras Band (an all-female brass band), The Afrodiziac's Jazz (a 7-piece Ethiopian Jazz group), Single Malt Please (a rowdy combination of male musicians that Maude has to wrangle), and the one and only Maude Caillat Quartet, Maude's biggest venture yet and the subject of this ask.

Despite all of her success as a band leader, Maude still feels like she isn't taken seriously in the male-dominated world of music. As the Quartet gets ready to go on tour, Maude has even confided in me that she feels like she has to use a man's name in order to be taken seriously when she reaches out to venues.

Her gender feels like a constant obstacle in her work, and it shouldn't be.

So my plea is this: let's come together to make it possible for the Maude Caillat Quartet to go on an epic tour through the US to share MAUDE's music under HER name.

The tour kicks off on July 4th in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and continues through Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Florida and more before circling back to the Quartet's home base: New Orleans! After the last show, the Quartet plans to record an album at the Sound Cafe!

To make this dream a reality, the Quartet needs funds for a vehicle, marketing and fundraising support, food, lodging, merch, and all of the other little things that go into creating a successful tour.
