Altamar is a movement of Latina and other diverse women in philanthropy committed to supporting under supported and underrepresented grassroots organizations in Lawrence, MA. Through our giving circle we pool our funds and allocate them back into our community thus flexing our collective power!

Lorie Mendoza, founder & CEO of AltaMar, has a background in philanthropy as a Corporate Social Responsibility leader and brings over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector serving Lawrence, MA.

Inspired by the legacy of her grandmother, Altagracia and her mother Maritza, Lorie launched the Altamar Foundation to empower women and girls through equitable grantmaking, scholarships, programs and workshops centered around civic leadership, self-care and overall well-being.

A proud advocate of giving equitably and building civic power, Lorie is passionate about creating inclusive spaces for women and girls to thrive!
