Winter Wish Project was born out of a COVID-19 pandemic that disproportionately impacted the minority veteran community. Through the incredible generosity of supporters and sponsors, we've served 163 families since 2020 with our Winter Wish Project.

Winter Wish Project is back for 2023 and we're so excited to start raising money to support members of our community in need of a little support this winter! Across the country, people have been feeling the impacts of the rising costs of nearly everything. This Winter Wish Project we'll be asking our families to complete Amazon wishlists for all their winter items and gear. That's where we need your help! For every $200 we raise, Minority Vets will support one additional minority veteran family through our Winter Wish Project! The deadline to support is Friday, December 10th so don't wait!

This has been a blessing in disguise. 2022 has been a tough year and we felt so defeated. I didn’t expect to be selected, so this whole experience caught me by surprise. I couldn’t help but cry with tears of joy. My husband and I have been struggling silently. This act of kindness was a beautiful way to end the year. We can’t wait to see the excitement our children will have. This year is special because this is our first Christmas with our newest child (pre-teen) to the family. Thank you so much!

I am so thankful for the generosity of friends that I haven’t met yet. Times are tough right now and your kindness makes it a little bit better. Because of you, my family and I will be able to enjoy this holiday season and I won’t be worried about finances. I can’t thank you enough.

I have a heart full of gratitude and I keep telling myself that it is time to receive graciously; and that it is okay to do so. I have been on the side of giving but rarely receiving. Thank you for your generous hearts and you can be assured I plan to pay it forward.

The experience was such a boost in a very difficult two years for my family (we both have military backgrounds). Illness unexpectedly hit and turned our world upside down and all the time we had spent years working so hard to prepare for seemed all for naught. At least initially, until we had to learn to strategize for our best "rest of our lives". It feels good to be asked whether we could use an expression of hope in our lives. Well, yes, thank you so much for asking. The Winter Wish Project let me know that others truly cared and it was enough to spark gratitude into our lives. Gratitude goes a long way in providing sound perspective and in helping us to cope in this period of our lives. Thank you.
