Encompass is an organic farm in the foothills of NC feeding over 100 asheville families year-round through a customizable CSA. This weekly Veggie Box is comprised of produce grown at Encompass, as well as veggies from three local collaborators, providing reliable year round income not just to Vannah of Encompass, but also to three other organic farms. Our network of farmers support one another through the myriad of challenges we face as small farmers all while feeding families!

Hurricane helene caused catastrophic damage to Asheville NC, but left our farmer network unscathed. We're faced with an abundance of produce going into one of our most profitable times of year where fall income creates a winter finance buffer, but with the caveat that all sales outlets are closed or destroyed. Farm collaborators and I have pivoted to sending produce for donation to support disaster relief, but it's a short term solution that raises long term questions about the social and economic impacts of this storm.

We're asking for those who are able to donate the equivalent amount of a weekly Veggie Box ($30) to help us continue to financially support one another's farms and feed our customers for free, many of whom have lost everything.
