Warm up with a bowl of comfort at our last Soup Group of the season on Wednesday, May 28th. This month, we're thrilled to welcome District 3 Trustee and food stylist, Lissa Levy, as our community chef!

Lissa Levy, newly-minted Skokie District 3 Trustee, has been working toward community joy since she moved to Skokie 10 years ago with her family. Principal founder of Meetup on Main, she strives toward reimagining, reinvigorating, and reconnecting us to our neighbors, neighborhoods, and Village. Her professional background is in presentation, event planning, and culinary arts, combining these forces for the power of deliciousness. She teaches beginner Food Styling for entrepreneurs at The Hatchery in Chicago, giving new businesses access to visual resources normally only available to high-profile clients. She also partners with Shore Community Services, a non-profit that provides day programming for adults with developmental disabilities, to make and package her artisanal Elle's Marshmallows. These adults receive gentle job training and some yummy perks. She looks forward to making some tasty soups, having meaningful conversation, and to meeting more members of our Skokie-Niles-Morton Grove community

All proceeds from Soup Group benefit the Niles Township Food Pantry.

Soup Group is a community-driven event where neighbors share homemade soups, foster connections, and support the Niles Township Food Pantry. Each Soup Group gathering features one or more community chefs who cook two shareable soups, with a vegetarian soup always included. Proceeds and leftover soup from each event go directly to helping our neighbors experiencing hunger and housing instability, making it a delicious way to give back!
