In Person
Jenni deBie will facilitate a two-part Love Poetry 101 workshop at Arts on Pine (518 Pine Street, Texarkana, TX 75501). Students will meet Thursday, Feb. 6 from 5:30-7pm and Thursday, Feb. 13 from 5:30-7pm to read, write, and workshop poetry with a particular eye to what we love, whatever it may be: people, places, warm fuzzy socks, or the best dogs in the world. deBie and students will find inspiration in the odes of Rudy Francisco, sonnets of Elizabeth Barret Browning, and imagery of Carol Anne Duffy, among many others. Students will utilize exercises that embrace form poetry, like sonnets, villanelles, and free verse. Students will then have the opportunity to present their work at The Stained Page on Valentine's Day from 6-7pm. Tuition for this workshop is only refundable if less than 8 individuals register. This class is open to individuals 18+. Join us, write with us, and see what we can create together. For additional questions, please email [email protected] or call 903-792-8681. *event details provided by Jennifer deBie and organized by Marcus Zwiebel
