The Painted City Dream

I regularly take the scenic route through Chester, looking at neighborhoods and buildings. As I drive through, I like to reimagine each home, business or abandoned structure with a fresh mural on it. But you know what's cooler than 1 mural? A Thousand Murals.What if we painted the face of every single building in Chester with murals? Imagine driving through the city and every building is an art piece?Chester wouldn't be an eyesore, it would become a destination. People would travel through our neighborhoods just to see "The Painted City". We'd have walking tours, telling the stories of each piece. Businesses would flourish, home values increase, trash dumping would decrease and so many other positive, uplifting ripple effects would occur.

Yeah I know it's insane.

When I shared this dream, everyone said "Go For It!" or "Just start with one house!"

Thanks to Councilwoman Gibson-Williams, we have our first property. It is on the "storefront of Chester" street, 1601 Concord Avenue. Visible from 95, this street is the face of Chester. We are going to start with one incredible mural but we need you to help make it a reality.

I need you to donate, paint and more! But right now the only hurdle left is money. We have the time, talent and energy. We just need to get the funds to make it happen.
