My boys (Dante 7 and Rocco 5) and I are patients with the RUNX1 gene mutation as well as Delta Storage Pool Dysfunction, which are both bleeding disorders. RUNX1 is a gene mutation located on chromosome 21. This mutation leads to low platelet counts, dysfunctional platelets and a predisposition to blood cancers.
