This year we celebrate Juneteenth in defiance of those who seek to erase Black history.

As institutions across the country remove references to the struggles and accomplishments of Black Americans, we refuse to let fear silence us. Many in power would like to see the United States return to the days of Jim Crow, or worse. With threats to punish - even criminalize - celebrations of diversity, equity and inclusion, they stoke fear, in hopes that Americans will abandon the pursuit of racial justice.

While government agencies and corporations cave to the pressure, organizations like the Workers Center for Racial Justice cannot, and will not, give up on the ideal of an inclusive democracy, economy, and society where Black people thrive. Racial justice is our mission and reason for existence, and we will continue to do everything we can to uplift Black communities through civic education, grassroots leadership development, organizing, community-led policy advocacy, and Black voter engagement.

Never in WCRJ's history has there been more on the line - now is the time to invest deeply in true collective liberation. Please give generously this Juneteenth, and show us that you stand on the side of Black liberation!
