Dear Friends,

We would like to introduce you to Another Chance House of Refuge, Inc., a 501©3 non-profit organization that empowers under-served families and justice-involved individuals in Mecklenburg County to reach their fullest potential. Our current objective is to provide our constituents with a safe housing environment, case management services, educational support, employment training, and self-sufficiency skills. We also provide essential items, nutritional meals, and food to homeless and low-income families in need. Our first transitional home is for men dealing with or having dealt with systematic oppression. Our second home is for women who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.

Research shows that families and individuals dealing with financial crises are more likely to spend their money on daily life necessities; many times having to make the choice of whether they should eat or provide a roof over their heads at night. A great number of these individuals are also veterans with mental illnesses that prohibit them from making healthy, daily life decisions. People contact us every week seeking food, essential hygiene products, toiletries, warm clothing, and other essential resources. Our aim is to be there for them.

Everyone deserves the basics of life and the opportunity to be the best version of themselves that they can be. That’s why three of the most consistent ways that we support those who are in need are through our Transitional Housing Program, Food & Nutrition, and Emergency Provisions. People contact us every week seeking essential resources.

We invite you to join us in our efforts. With your donation of supplies for our transitional homes, non-perishable food items, toiletries, and/or gift cards, we can continue to be a bridge during a time of crisis.
