Our Time Has Come!
The story of Central Valley Armenians is of particular cultural significance to historians and cultural anthropologists around the world. After the near eradication of Armenians in historic Armenia by Genocide, many survivors relocated to Central California thereby creating one of the earliest and most active centers of Western Armenian culture in the United States. Today, we are part of the worldwide effort to preserve the Western Armenian legacy.
What We're Building
The Armenian Cultural Conservancy (ACC) is a Fresno based 501(c)3 non-profit group taking the initiative to create a permanent heritage facility showcasing the stories, music, language, artifacts, memorabilia and cuisine which honor the lives of Central Valley Armenians. Your support will help us:
- Launch the Armenian Heritage Collections of Central California, a dynamic space for exhibits, programs, and cultural events.
- Relocate and restore the historic Vartanian House in Armenia Town, transforming it into the permanent home of our heritage center.
Why It Matters
This is more than a museum—it’s a living archive of resilience, identity, and community. With your help, we’ll preserve the stories, music, artifacts, and cuisine that define generations of Armenian Americans in the Central Valley.
