Securing the Future of Health
Houston has one of the highest uninsured rates in the nation. Over a million families delay health care, suffer from preventable conditions, and rely on overcrowded emergency rooms—costing Texas over $1.7 billion annually. Rapid population growth and shrinking federal funding threaten to deepen these disparities.
For over 20 years, Spring Branch Community Health Center (SBCHC) has delivered high-quality, compassionate care to almost 28,000 patients annually—regardless of insurance status—across Spring Branch, West Houston, and 100+ zip codes. Ranked among the top 10% of Federally Qualified Health Centers nationally, SBCHC provides integrated services including primary care, women’s health, behavioral health, dental, nutrition, youth housing, and early literacy support. Our comprehensive model improves health outcomes, empowers families, and builds stronger, healthier communities. SBCHC’s $13 million Securing the Future of Health campaign will double capacity, eliminate inefficiencies, save on lease costs, and deliver sustainable long-term health equity through two bold initiatives: Transformation of a 48,275 sq. ft. two-story building into an all-in-one health hub, acquisition of a Katy Clinic facility, and key investments in equipment, technology, and reserve funds.
Phase II : 8945 Long Point Road, Houston TX 77055
SBCHC TotalHealth Campus—a 48,275 sq. ft. health and wellness hub on 2.7 acres at 8945 Long Point Road that will consolidate two high-volume clinics, double exam room capacity, and enable SBCHC to serve up to 70,000 patients and deliver more than 140,000 visits annually- doubling our current capacity. The Campus will expand access, integrate care, and serve as a national model for equity-driven, community-based primary care delivery. The SBCHC TotalHealth Campus will also introduce new on-site services, including a laboratory, pharmacy, and optometry clinic. Additional plans include a Demonstration Kitchen, Reflection Room, Community Education Spaces for health education, arts therapy, and other programs in collaboration with community partners. Renovations will begin on the first floor to support a phased, strategic rollout of services.
