Our Mission

To CREATE music-related after-school, summer, mentorship, and scholarship programs for North Port students, to INSPIRE the next generation of future leaders through music education; and to TRANSFORM North Port into a center for music education and help make North Port school music programs amongst the best in the state of Florida.

Programs

YMAANP will provide after-school and summer programs for students in North Port with a focus on elementary level ensembles and providing volunteer opportunities for high school music students to create a cyclical mentoring environment. Our current timeline includes:

Youth Children’s Choir, grades 3 to 5, starting late August or early September 2024.
Beginning Instrumental summer camps, band and/or orchestra, grades 4 to 6, summer 2025
Expansion of Youth Choirs to intermediate level, grades 6 to 8, September 2025
After-school Beginning Elementary Band and/or orchestra, grades 4 and 5, September 2025
High school scholarship awards sometime in the 2025-2026 school year.

We plan to expand beyond these programs to include 2nd and 3rd year instrumental programs during the summer and after-school. We also plan to begin percussion ensembles and elementary and middle school colorguard teams.
