The You Matter; The 988 Mural Planning Committee, a subcommittee of the Clinton County, NY Coalition to Prevent Suicide in cooperation with Outside Art: Plattsburgh Public Art Project (OA), announces the upcoming “You Matter; The 988 Mural.” It will serve as a message of support to the North Country for suicide prevention and will help break the stigma associated with mental health. This colorful and positive message will involve support from multiple artists, families, and students in our community. The mural will feature a scene with the words, “YOU MATTER,” along with symbols, including semicolons, and 988 information (suicide and crisis hotline) and it will be painted on the west-facing wall of Warren Tire at 13 Broad St, Plattsburgh (facing Stafford Middle School) in June 2024. This colorful and positive message will be created by renowned local artist Giovanina Bucci, with the support of families and students in our community. The mural will be dedicated at the Lake City Arts Festival in August 2024.
