You are cordially invited to the 2024 Youth Power Reception held by the Young People’s Alliance on May 29th at 5:30pm ET in Raleigh, NC. The reception will honor Congressman Don Davis and Senator Ted Budd* for their work empowering our student advocates in Congress.

The Young People’s Alliance is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization that empowers young people by advocating for youth issues on Capitol Hill and in the NC General Assembly, as well as engaging thousands of students in politics across 11 college campuses in North Carolina. Our bipartisan team of students has introduced novel kids’ online safety legislation in North Carolina, testified before Congress on mental health, and has already registered/mobilized over 1,000 students to vote this year.

We hope you will be able to join our inaugural Youth Power Reception to honor the importance of youth perspectives in politics and the leaders who have enabled us to have an impact on policy.

The event will be held at Tobacco Road Sports Cafe (a short walk from the General Assembly) from 5:30pm-8:00pm. Hors d'oeuvres and a drink ticket will be provided. Extra drinks are available for purchase. Tickets must be purchased on Givebutter.

Kristin Baker, Lennie Jernigan from NC Voter Project, Bob Phillips from Common Cause NC, Chase Gaines from the NC Chamber of Commerce, Tiffany Gladney from NC Child, Jay Derr from the Reason Foundation, Zack Czajkowski, Wilson Moore, and Ishvaraus Davis (members are attending in their individual capacity, not as representatives of their organizations).

*Senator Budd will be providing recorded remarks. Congressman Davis will be present for the event.
