This year has confronted our community with numerous challenges, as we witness relentless attacks on Queer and Trans folks, particularly youth.

Nonetheless, we will fight, play, and embrace one another in the face of those who try to oppress us.

They will not hush our cries for liberation. They will not quiet our resistance. They will not silence our pride. We are Loud at Love.

We're looking forward to celebrating Queer and Trans youth at Blue Ridge Pride! We want to share a few ways you can support Youth OUTright at the festival and beyond.

Join the Procession

We're inviting LGBTQIA+ youth and the people who support them to join us for the Welcome Procession. RSVP to help us estimate the Youth OUTright team size. We will be gathering in the 23 Grove Street parking lot at 10AM with the parade starting at 10:30AM. You can see the full route here. Youth Pride

Join us at Youth Pride on Saturday, September 30 from 11AM-7PM at Pack Square Park. Youth Pride is a space within the Blue Ridge Pride Festival specifically for Queer and Trans youth to connect and celebrate their identities! This is an alcohol and substance-free zone with youth-serving vendors, free activities, and opportunities to build resilient Queer and Trans youth communities. Some activities and resources you can look forward to include:

Community Care Table
- This booth will include coloring books, noise-reducing headphones, stim toys, weighted blankets, books, zines, and print resources on mental health and wellness
Art Making Table
- This booth will include art supplies for self-love self-portrait prompts, button-making materials, and friendship/pride bracelet-making
Call-to-Action Table
- This booth will include letter writing to local legislators and zines on Queer and Trans youth organizing
Other tables in the Youth Pride Section
- Buncombe County Public Library, Cornbread & Roses Community Counseling, Helping at Risk Kids, Inc., More Love Face Painting, NextGen America, Girls Rock Asheville, and Caring for Children

Visit Our Booth

Following the Welcome Procession, Youth OUTright staff and volunteers will be stationed with a booth at Pack Square Park. Come visit us to pick up resources and learn about our programs. Everyone who makes a donation of $15 or more will receive a limited edition Youth OUTright tote! Must be picked up at Blue Ridge Pride.

Register Your GSA

Visit our booth to register your school's GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance) club and use our QR code GSA list for information on starting a GSA, the GSA Advisor Handbook, GSA strategies and activities, getting $500 for your club from the GSA National Network, and more!

Youth OUTright and our allied family continue striving for a world where all Queer and Trans youth are supported to realize their power and autonomy through self-determination. As the demand for spaces that prioritize LGBTQIA+ youth affirmations and dreams increases, so do our funding needs.

Blue Ridge Pride is a public community event. You can learn more about the full festival on their website.
Because of the scale of this event, we are not able to provide supervision for minors. We encourage families to attend together.
There will be a police presence at Blue Ridge Pride.
