I’ve been involved with the music world for many years - always in a behind-the-scenes capacity.

Now, I’m taking a giant leap outside my comfort zone. I’ve joined in on a fundraising activity - Rock Roulette sponsored by Y’all Rock. I’ll be playing bass in a newly formed band The Matriarchy  

Y’all Rock is an international organization. The Carbondale chapter hosts a youth camp every summer. Kids are sorted into bands, are given instruction on their chosen instrument, write original songs, and perform a showcase at a local venue.

Music is an amazing way to build self esteem and create a sense of community, demonstrate inclusion, and provide a safe space to express ideas and emotions.

Rock Roulette is the same sort of thing, but with adults and less hands-on instruction. We do this to raise funds through donations, merch sales, and the showcase on March 9. The more money we raise, the more kids we can support this summer. We all know that the kids who need this type of experience are the ones who can’t afford private lessons.

So - help me help the kids.
