Story
We believe our intense focus on news and emergency
information has allowed us to grow during what has been a very unsteady
time for media.
Funds raised will allow us to hire a team of two
reporters so they can focus their efforts on deep reporting that will
have a positive impact on the community. We want to expand our newsroom
and hire a dedicated local government reporter and a data reporter.
Schools, local government and special districts are undergoing rapid
changes. Data reporting is lacking in our area, from mapping broadband
availability in high fire danger zones to uneven distribution of funding
in rural areas. In short, we can double our newsroom capacity with your
help.
The time and effort it takes to do this type of reporting
is not cheap and we need your help and support. Many of you already
subscribe, and for that, we are grateful. But we now are also asking
subscribers and non-subscribers to consider making tax-deductible
donations to increase our coverage of key issues.
Outstanding
local journalism can be an excellent prescription for problems that ail
society as we can shine a light on problems and help to offer solutions.
YubaNet will bring the same level of commitment, enthusiasm and focus
to our investigative reporting as we have to providing the best local
news in our communities. After all, we all live here!
Thank you for your support of YubaNet!
The YubaNet Double the Capacity Project will hire a special district reporter and a data reporter who will focus their efforts on deep reporting that will positively impact the community. Donations to Local Media Foundation for this project are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. No goods or services are provided in exchange for contributions. Please consult a tax advisor for details. The program is administered by Local Media Foundation, tax ID #36‐4427750, a Section 501(c)(3) charitable trust affiliated with Local Media Association.
