The Dam Park is a beloved community space that serves Detroit residents and visitors alike. As one of the Pacific Northwest’s top travel destinations, Detroit’s parks play a vital role in providing recreational spaces, family-friendly activities, and retreats for locals and tourists. With your help, we are creating a beautiful, natural, and accessible park that will serve as a community gathering place for residents and visitors alike.

Now, we need your help to bring our vision for a safer, more interactive, and family-friendly park to life!

We’re allying for a grant to help fund this project, BUT there’s a catch…
The grant requires us to match 20% of the project cost through donations, in-kind materials, volunteer labor, or local funding. This means every dollar, material donation, and volunteer hour helps us unlock the full funding we need!

Our Vision

With your support, we are improving The Dam Park by adding:

Lush Landscaping & Park Border – Trees, shrubs, benches, and pathways for a more inviting and shaded park experience.
A heavy timber pavilion – A stunning wood-beamed shelter for community events, picnics, and family gatherings.
A modern, ADA-accessible playground – Ensuring everyone, including seniors and individuals with disabilities, can enjoy the park.
Future Permanent Stage & Greenspace – An open lawn for concerts, performances, and free play.
Dream Feature: Splash Pad & Play Area! – A water play area that doubles as seating and climbing structures when water is off.
An upgraded irrigation system – Keeping the park green and thriving with efficient water use.

The pavilion, future stage, and entranceway will feature a heavy timber design inspired by the wood architecture at City Hall, giving the park a cohesive and natural aesthetic that reflects Detroit’s beauty.
