In honor of Charlie Landers and the Charlie Landers Foundation CL7, Jake Long, and Connor Kerin, have once again set up a relay marathon team with other students from their school, Don Bosco Prep. They are running on April 17th, 2024 Charlie’s 18^th Birthday! The CUIMC Team Relay Marathon event is hosted by The Armory in New York City. We are indebted to these amazing guys for their efforts to help us strike out Ewing’s Sarcoma!

An athlete, a teammate, a student, a friend, a son, a brother, a hero, Charlie Landers fought for over two years with a rare form of cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma. This form of cancer is usually found in children ages 10-20. It is so rare that doctors treat it the same as they would have in 1970, there have been no advancements because of the very small number of cases. In March of 2022, Charlie left us with his final Instagram post, captioned, “Own the mound.” It seemed as if everyone in the state of New Jersey knew who he was and were all reacting to this post together. Everyone was eager to share their story about how they met him.

Everywhere we go, we see a CL7 shirt, car magnet, or logo reminding us of the lasting impressions that Charlie made.

It is an honor for us and the team to be able to be a part of his legacy.
