“One of the major differences between living in the USA and Honduras is the access to resources. While I knew there would be significant disparities, witnessing firsthand how it affects families in my community brought the challenges many of my students face into sharp focus. Reliable government programs and opportunities in schools are scarce compared to the USA. For instance, students living in remote villages in the mountains have severely limited educational opportunities, and for most, the chance to attend college feels out of reach. I recall a particular student whose mother passed away unexpectedly. With her sole source of income gone, the question of survival became even more pressing. This fund is designed with these students in mind: those without access to resources or funding, whose family support systems are fragile, and those who have been dealt a very difficult hand in life.” - Austin
