Leaders set, shape, and steward culture. Their roles require an investment of time, energy, and resources and, often, involve sacrifice on behalf of others. They focus on, care deeply about, and feel a tremendous responsibility for the vision, mission, values, and people of the organizations they serve.

For many leaders, the weight and complexity of leadership results in exhaustion and loneliness. They withdraw, wondering whether anyone truly sees, understands, and appreciates what they hold and carry. As a result, weary leaders struggle with and/or walk away from their calling.

Through our 9-month SoCal SoulCARE experience, we seek to remind our leaders that they are not alone. Nor do they need to carry the weight of leadership on their own. We invite them to get away, with God and trusted others, to rest, receive, and recalibrate. Why? Because our world, churches, and organizations need secure, non-anxious, humble, generous leaders; rooted in love and offering that love to those around them.
