We are SO excited to launch this campaign, with the extra wind in our sails of a 1:1 match for every donation we receive! This couldn't come at a better time, as Climate Cycle is in the midst of a new evolution. While the original cornerstone projects of Climate Cycle were solar energy installations, the emerging cornerstone are classroom "ReGeneration Stations". These first of a kind pedal powered classrooms consist of bicycle generators powered by students that charge “Energy Banks” and run classroom appliances. Students get the chance to generate their own classroom’s electricity and understand exactly what it takes to bring clean energy to the world - all as part of the existing math and science curriculum.
Just last month, the inaugural ReGeneration Station was installed at the Prairie Crossing Charter School. Now, we are looking to take this flagship effort and replicate it throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond , with an emphasis on reaching low-income schools. All of Prairie Crossing’s K-8 grade levels will utilize the system, with an emphasis on 3rd and 4th, each of whom have units on electricity. From powering Chrome Books to Bunsen Burners, potential applications are almost endless.
The ReGeneration Program builds off a legacy of organizational impact. In its first 6-years, Climate Cycle brought sustainability to life for students and schools in a myriad of ways. These included 12 solar school installations, bike clubs, gardens, waste reduction efforts and more, while educating over 40,000 students about sustainability through interactive school assemblies. We were able to accomplish this through contributions of over $1.3 million. Moving forward, students will continue to be inspired by STEM to STEAM assemblies that infuse hip hop into sustainability education.

- Enriching our program
- Retooling the website
- Advancing organizational development
- Supporting general operations
