Ken's family has had a rough year. Ken had a colostomy and lost his job. While his employer wanted to help him, he thought Ken might be better served by the disability system. Ken was hospitalized for a month. Then he had 3 surgeries and ended up having an ileostomy. As a result of the ileostomy he no longer absorbs any nutrition. Ken came to SRQ Wellness Foundation at SRQ Med Spa in pretty bad shape. He was depressed, having trouble sleeping, lethargic and showing signs of advance malnutrition. He lot a lot fo weight and had no energy when he arrived.
He is getting better after every visit. In fact, Ken was well enough to get a surgery to reverse his ileostomy. While he was taking the IV vitamins his brain fog decreased, he felt let depressed and even put on weight. He was walking around and thinking he might be able to get a part time job. Ken lives with his mother whose only income is social security.
Unfortunately, the reversal surgery did not go well and the doctors are sending Ken out "to get healthy" because they can't do anything for him. He is hoping to come into SRQ Med Spa twice a week for IV vitamin treatments. The same doctor who told him "not to waste his money" has sent him back to us to improve his overall nutrition. Ken's treatments are heavily discounted, basically only covering his costs. Ken and his mother are very grateful for any support and donations that you may be able to make.
October 2024 Update: Ken had an emergency surgery recently and he struggles to keep a positive attitude. Initially, the doctors reversed his colostomy and he was very positive. An unforeseen complication resulted in another surgery and the doctors removed all the muscle in his stomach. Ken comes back to us depressed and in need of weekly nutrition. He always feels better after his visits and is doing his best to keep his "chin up".
