Crisis Ready Media is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that prepares journalists to work safely while on assignment. Our programs reflect the current realities facing reporters in the United States and around the world, and we build them to prepare media professionals for the hazards of covering natural disasters, civil unrest, and conflict.

Our programs are built on our Four Cornerstones of Journalist Safety: Physical Safety, Digital Security, Trauma-Focused First Aid, and Mental Wellness. Beyond training, we work to build a culture of safety within the journalism community, conduct research, and support hazardous environment reporting alongside other nonprofit organizations.

Our goal is to put hostile environment and first aid training and safety resources within reach of all journalists, especially freelance and student journalists and those working for nonprofit or under-resourced newsrooms. Please consider a tax-deductible donation at www.crisisreadymedia.org.
