Our Renshaw Seniors Deserve Stability, Security, and a Plan

Renshaw Apartments has provided affordable housing for Clawson seniors for decades. It is more than a building. It is home to our neighbors—people who have built their lives in this community and deserve the security of knowing they can remain here.

This November, Clawson voters will decide whether to give the city permission to sell Renshaw Apartments.

We believe Renshaw should not be sold until there is a clear, responsible plan for the seniors who call it home.

So far, the city has not presented a plan for keeping the current Renshaw residents in their homes if the property is sold. Instead, the focus has been on preparing the property for sale and seeking its highest possible market value.

We believe Clawson can do better.

A NO vote this November gives our community the opportunity to pause the sale and develop a real plan—one that puts the people who live at Renshaw at the center.

That plan should explore every responsible alternative, including seeking out or working with nonprofit housing organizations. Some organizations have already expressed interest in finding ways to preserve affordable senior housing at Renshaw.

Before we sell a community asset and ask our seniors to face an uncertain future, let's take the time to find a solution that provides what they deserve: stability, security, and a plan.

Help Us Reach Clawson Voters

The Save Renshaw Seniors campaign is working to educate Clawson voters about the November ballot proposal and make sure our community has the information it needs to make an informed decision.

That takes a community effort.

Your contribution will help us reach Clawson voters through mailers, signs, door hangers, literature, our website, and other lawful campaign expenses. Every contribution—large or small—helps us make sure more residents hear the facts, understand what is at stake, and have the opportunity to vote.

If you believe our Renshaw seniors deserve stability, security, and a plan, we hope you'll join us.

Thank you for standing with Renshaw and with the Clawson seniors who call it home.
