This training changes that, giving board members, CEOs, and development professionals the words and confidence to make successful donations invitations.

Sharon Papo, LCSW (she/her), is CEO of Indigo Skies Consulting, where she has helped Central Coast nonprofits raise well over $100 million. A former executive director and trained social worker, Sharon brings joy, energy, and deep relational expertise to help people feel comfortable and confident making meaningful donation invitations.

10:40 AM - 12:10 PM: Community-Centric Fundraising 101 with Nel Taylor

Community-Centric Fundraising (CCF) is a movement to evolve how fundraising is done in the nonprofit sector. Its goal is to support fundraisers and other nonprofit professionals to re-examine every fundraising philosophy and practice they have been taught, engage in vigorous ongoing conversations, and explore doing fundraising in ways that reduce harm and further social justice.

Nel Taylor (they/them) will join us virtually to share a 90-minute training covering the history of community-centric wealth redistribution practiced by communities of color (which inspired the CCF Movement). You’ll develop a deeper understanding of the ten Community-Centric Fundraising principles, and practical ways to adopt these principles, starting right now.

As Founder and Steward of Now This Consulting, Nel serves as an organizational equity strategist, ethical fundraising expert, and nonprofit systems-fixer with 14 years of experience in the sector. As a citizen of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, they bring an anti-racist, justice-driven lens to Indigenizing fundraising, leadership, and organizational systems across mission-driven spaces.
