Why Your Support Matters
Founded in 2014, Better Brothers Los Angeles supports the Black LGBTQ+ community with scholarships, events, and safe spaces. As political attacks on LGBTQ+ communities increase, BBLA seeks to raise $300,000 for its Impact Fund to ensure the future stability of the organization. If possible, please consider donating $1,000 to support upcoming Black LGBTQ+ leaders. Please know, however, that any and all contributions to BBLA’s Impact Fund will be greatly appreciated.

Our Impact: Changing Lives, Building Futures

Over $300,000 granted in scholarships: More than 60 Black LGBTQ+ scholars have received grants of up to $10,000, assisting them in pursuing higher education.
Community empowerment: The annual Truth Awards and year-round events celebrate and elevate the visibility of Black LGBTQ+ voices.
A safer, stronger community: BBLA promotes belonging, visibility, and resilience by creating spaces where individuals can live fully and authentically.

Impact Fund’s Urgent Need

Safeguarding Community Events: From the Truth Awards to wellness workshops, BBLA programs provide joy, connection, and visibility. Reserve-funds will ensure programs continue regardless of funding challenges.
Expanding Educational Opportunities: Many talented scholars face systemic barriers to higher education. The Fund will help BBLA increase scholarship amounts and reach more students, especially in times of economic uncertainty.
Resilience in the Face of Challenges: Amid rising hateful political attacks on LGBTQ+ rights, a sufficient base of reserve funds will ensure that BBLA remain an unwavering pillar of strength for the Black Queer community.
