As attacks on immigrant families ramp up, we as a community are rising to meet the moment with fierce care and determination to protect our neighbors.

Immigrant families in Bloomington, IN are being ripped apart and left to navigate complex legal systems that are stacked against them. But we know that together, we can lessen the burden on our neighbors by making sure they have fair representation in court and supporting their ability to stay housed and fed after their primary earners are detained.

This fund will prioritize families with young children and people with disabilities whose caretakers were stolen from them in the past year. We are supporting families fighting seemingly endless legal battles against ICE's unethical and in some cases, dubiously legal, attempts to keep them separated.

This fundraiser is put together by the Bloomington Alliance for Immigrant Rights. We're an all-volunteer group that connects immigrant families to resources to support them before, during, and after encounters with immigration enforcement. We provide safety planning resources, connections to pro-bono legal services and bond funds, Know Your Rights information, and community defense scouts — and we collaborate with other organizers in Bloomington, Evansville, Indianapolis, and Louisville to make sure community members have their needs met. We also partner with groups doing similar work around the country through our friends at Detention Watch Network, The Ruckus Society, Muslims for Just Futures, the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund, and more.
